Dr. Baosheng Guo, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Institute of Integrated Bioinformedicine and Translational Science (IBTS), and Mr. Bing He, the Ph.D. student in IBTS, were both invited by the Combined Orthopaedic Research Societies (CORS) to make oral presentations on the 8th combined meeting of orthopaedic research societies on 13-16 October 2013, in San Servolo, Venice, Italy.
CORS, the Combined Orthopaedic Research Societies, is a global network of national and regional societies sharing a strong dedication to orthopaedic research. CORS was founded over 20 years ago upon recognition of the need for worldwide cooperation to solve the challenges of musculoskeletal diseases. Nine Societies from around the globe are presently active within CORS, and new members are expected to join in the next future to extend this alliance to promote orthopaedic science and education on a global basis.
CORS representatives regularly meet in the context of the annual ORS meeting. Every three years, CORS organizes a big scientific meeting hosted by one of the member Societies. Previous meetings were held in Kyoto, Japan (2010), Honolulu, USA (2007), and Banff, Canada (2004). The European Orthopaedic Research Society has obtained the privilege to host the 8th edition of this meeting in 2013. The 8th tri-annual Combined Meeting of Orthopaedic Research Societies - CORS 2013 which will take place in the Congress Center of San Servolo, Venice (Italy) from the 13th to the 16th of October.
Dr. Baosheng Guo will make a speech of his new finding 'Therapeutic inhibition of miR-214 within osteogenic cells in aged osteoporotic rats induced by ovariectomy for bone anabolic strategy: Optimization of dosage and duration' on the meeting. Meanwhile, Ph.D. student Mr. Bing will make an oral presentation on 'Potential strategy regulating miRNAs to improve impaired fracture healing in aged females: A systematic view for timing and targets'.
