The Croucher Foundation is an independent private foundation established by the late Noel Croucher in 1979 to promote the standard of the natural sciences, technology and medicine in Hong Kong. A collaborative project from Institute of Integrated Bioinformedicine and Translational Science (IBTS) in the HKBU and the Shanghai institute of Meteria Medica of Chinese academy of Sciences was successfully funded by Croucher Foundation.

The project is titled “Toward Cell-targeted Therapeutics in Osteosarcoma: a Smart Triptolide-aptamer Conjugate”. The amount approved for this project (CAS14BU/CAS14201) is HKD 1,000,000. This project will not only provide a novel aptamer LC6-TP conjugate with high sensitivity and efficiency to inhibit osteosarcoma, but also establish an innovative approach to develop smart compounds by modifying natural products with aptamers for cell targeted therapy with safety.
